What is anti-pollution skincare?
Anti-pollution skincare does exactly what it says on the tin: it uses specific formulas to help protect skin against everyday pollution. And when we say ‘pollution’, we’re referring to the four major sources of air pollution:
- Industrial pollution
- Exhaust fumes
- Household activities
- Cigarette smoke
You see, cells come into contact with these forms of pollution every day and so have to remove waste and everything that pollutes them in order to remain healthy. If pollution and external aggressors get the better of skin, your complexion barrier becomes weakened. When its weakened it can lead to dehydration, rough skin texture and a loss of radiance. It’s the job of anti-pollution skincare to help prevent this from happening.
Does My Clarins count as anti-pollution skincare?
It sure does! At My Clarins, our products are designed with healthy, happy skin in mind. That’s why we pack them to the brim with nourishing, natural ingredients that not only let goodness in, but also take nasties out - and help protect against everyday grime (such as pollution). In our two RE-MOVE cleansing products (Micellar Cleansing Milk and Purifying Cleansing Gel), we have called upon the best detoxifier to effectively remove those pollution particles: moringa extract. And, we’ve looked to our older sister Clarins for expertise after they’ve formulated six generations of successful anti-pollution complex. With their guidance, My Clarins have created the 7th generation anti-pollution complex for a new wave of pollution protection.
What’s in the My Clarins anti-pollution complex?
We’re strong advocates for believing in the power of nature - especially its ability to provide skin with global protection from the harmful effects of pollution. That’s why we’ve incorporated three wonderful natural extracts to form our new anti-pollution complex:
White horehound extract is perfect for reinforcing your skin’s barrier against the harmful effects of pollution while simultaneously reducing oxidative stress. “What’s oxidative stress?”, we hear you ask. It’s when free radicals combine with oxygen and is responsible for dull complexions or uneven skin tones. The white horehound extract gets to work to try and stop this from happening - and preserve your skin’s hydration.
Furcellaria extract is your go-to for offering skin surface protection and preventing dehydration.
Nipplewort extract has anti-free radical properties and is just what you need for increasing cells’ survival capacity against environmental aggressors. Happy cells equal happy skin!
This new complex can be found in our pollution protection skin care products, such as the RE-BOOST Refreshing Hydrating Cream, RE-BOOST Matifying Hydrating Cream and RE-BOOST Comforting Hydrating Cream to set you up for the day and help form a barrier against daily pollution. It can also be found in our RE-CHARGE Relaxing Sleep Mask - perfect for protecting your skin against indoor pollution while you grab those zzzs.
